Art After Dark will be packed with experiences that appeal to every aspect of your creative side. Looking to express yourself? Create a collage and experiment with oil pastels during our drop-in workshops, or join an exploration of our opening exhibition, Billie Zangewa: Thread for a Web Begun. Wanting to learn more about Juneteenth and Black Music Month? Watch a specially curated Juneteenth theater performance and a live concert that celebrates a journey through decades of Black music. 

All experiences during Art After Dark are first come, first serve. Your registration for Art After Dark gains you equal access to all of the evening's experiences until they are at capacity. Please register and check our website for updates on the evening's schedule details!

  • Happening throughout the evening -- Galleries Open; #AAD22 photo station in the Plaza entrance; cash bar featuring 2 signature cocktails 

  • 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm -- 2nd Floor Lobby -- Billie Zangewa: Thread for a Web Begun Exhibition Opening and Discussion

  • 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm -- Classroom (2nd Floor) -- Jamea Naje, Pastel Monoprints Drop-In Art Workshop

  • 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, 4th floor -- Project Jaybird Film Preview/Discussion 

  • 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm, 3rd floor mezzanine -- Adinkra Painting with Henna

  • 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm -- 1st Floor Museum Store -- Danyelle Ray, Live Art Demo

  • 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm -- Performance Suite (2nd floor) -- BNS Productions presents - THE BLACK EXPERIENCE: After Juneteenth Theater Experience

  • 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm -- 4th Floor Rooftop/Terrace -- Rooftop Vibes Live Art Demo with Kalin Renee Devone

  • 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm -- Classroom (2nd Floor) -- Jaillin Johnson, Drop-In Collage workshop

  • 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm -- 2nd Floor Lobby -- Jessica Macks and Band: Journey Through Black Music - Live Concert
